Weber County Fair

So as most of you know I am from Evansville Indiana home to the Vanderburg county fair which I NEVER missed growing up and it included demo derbys, country concerts, motocross racing and the main event tractor pulls. Its was a big deal and a big social event and I loved the tractor pulls. The summer after me and Austin first were married I took him to said tractor pull....they had maybe 2 pulls and he was done thats about 20 minuets MAYBE. Absolutly thought it was lame and a waste of time and let me tell you I considered leaving him home. ANYWAY since he has started working at John Deere all the sudden tractors and combines and general farm equipment is cool :) How the tides have changed :) So he let me repeat HE wanted to go down to the county fair this year and we had a great time. They had a main event that was awesome! Combine demo derby it was insane seeing thousands to a million dollars worth of equipment being used that way which made it even more fun. Brighton loved it there was a petting zoo and he was a bit shy of most of the animals till he saw the white ducks....he took after them like crazy, because of course they were quaking a sound that sounds an awful lot how Brighton talks at times :) Austin had a ginormous Turkey leg and funnel cake while I stuck with just staying hydrated. It was great that we could finally enjoy such an event as a family and Austin was happy as could be watching all that engineering try to ram each other to the death. John Deere Waterpark Day

We had our first John Deere company outing last week saturday to Lost Island Waterpark. It was so much fun! Brighton who usually has about a 2 hour maxiumum being happy stayed for 4 hours and was sad to leave but unfortunatly the poor little guy inherited my genes as far as severe lack of pigment in his skin and me knowing this sunscreened him up 3 times during our duration with some seriously heavy duty sunscreen and yet we both got out of their burned and were applying aloe to him and myself for the next three days. BUT he had a blast playing with the other kids in the kiddie park and climbing the stairs and going down the slide. By far austins favorite part was when we took him in the lazy river with us. We had been out for about 3 hours and Brighton was getting tired and so he just snuggled up to his dad as they went around the lazy river still interested in the water and what was going on and he even grabbed the handle of the intertube to try and steer but mostly he just cuddled up with dad it made Austins whole week. Sweet moments get you through parenthood I've learned and you tend to remember those times very vividly. For me however I get a double dose I get to see him being sweet during the everyday and I love just as equally seeing Austin just be sweet as can be with Brighton they certainly love each other and its always fun for me to see.

Summer Fun

I have been on serious blogging vacation since our move so I dont know exactly where to start again. Lets see well as it turns out during all the moving and graduating surprise I was pregnant with another little one. It wasnt till we got to Indiana that I started getting all the morning sickness which I usually get at night for some reason but with this one it was more of an all day thing. Anyway most of that is gone now and I am due December 22nd :) Hopefully this pregnancy will go much better than the last one. As a nice little vacation for me Austin couldnt have come at a better time we spent 6 days in Mexico at Hotel Cataolnia it was beautiful. We sat by the beach and read probably at least 3 books each it was awesome. We went an an awesome snorkling adventure in the ocean and reefs and caves since I am pregnant we werent able to go scuba diving....which kind of sucked but there will other times.

Brighton has since turned one years old and has been having a blast playing with his 2 year old cousin Jocelyn they are so cute together and she is so tolerant. He also has a 4 month old little cousin Madeline and he continues to try to grasp the concept of soft and nice. They have been great playmates for him. He is cutting a ton of teeth and has almost everyone of them in or coming in. He is eating pretty much anything we eat now and is drinking sippy cups and his favorite drink is water the kid downs water like crazy. My dad came home from Mongolia for almost 2 weeks and it was so fun to see him. Austin loves working in the woodshop with my dad he also gave us a suprise cousin for 3 days!!! He sent Robert Landes over here for us to play with it was a great surprise we really were bummed we didnt get to see him before we left utah. Being pregnant again before I was able to get surgery on my back is a bit intimidating so I went to Dr.Rupert here he is my old bishop and he gave me some prp injections and I cant quite describe the pain that entails...I have has lots of surgeries and lots of pain in my line and its more painful than all of them combined and then some its soo hard to get up on that table knowing whats coming but in the long run it really does help me carry my babies.

 Austin starts work on June 20th in Iowa so we are getting ready for all that entails we bid on one house and luckily didnt get it because now we are bidding on a house 2x as big and it will be a great investment if we get it. Alots Happened

Where to start....well my nightmare of moving all our stuff into storage is over the repetitive cycle of college for Austin is finally over we managed a 24 hour drive with our baby brighton to Indiana in a 2 day period and my son had his frist birthday and I found out suprise I am pregnant....again no idea how far along could be up to 2 1/2 to 3 months so but after all this stress we are super excited for our mexico trip here next monday we leave for beatiful riveria maya. But hhere are some pictures along our busy april. Brightons birthday was fun he hasnt been as happy last two days as he has some back teeth coming in for the first time but all in all he was an angel on the road trip here couldnt have asked any more from him being tied down in a car seat for 2 days but he loves the open yard here in Indiana and his two little cousing and he is even getting used to Sadey my brothers yellow lab dog. Theres alot more room out here for him to crawl around and be adventurous. We are enjoying being here in Indiana and love the break before we start the next phase of life in Iowa.

First Haircut and Tangled Love

Just a quick upload we have recently learned that Brighton is in love with the song I see the Light from Tangled we can just repeat it and repeat it and he just stands and stares he loves it. Also he was getting a lil pony tail action going on with his hair so I took him in for his first haircut so that I now know how to go about cutting it myself. AND the good new Austin got his job offer from John Deere so unless some amazing job that Austin is wanting more than John Deere comes in before the 11th we will be heading to Cedar Falls Iowa!

Aquarium Trip

I woke up saturday so excited to go to the zoo then I looked up the weather and it wasnt exactly zoo perfect weather so after first session of confrence I took Brighton and Shaun and Sarah to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy. Brighton LOVED it he got to splash his hand in the sting ray area it was way too deep for him to pet then or anything. The kids area was fun for him too they have little fish tanks at their eye level and he was not happy when after 20 minuets I had to take him away but by far his favorite was the penguin attraction they have a huge tank and the penguins were great they were jumping in and out of the water and swimming and racing in front of him and he was so happy he would clap everytime they swam past him. It was a great trip and makes me even more excited to take him to the zoo in the next week or two and we will go all the time when we go to evansville for a month but our zoo there sucks in comparison to the Salt Lake City zoo they have a baby elephant! Elephants are my favorite!

John Deere Green

To all those that are wondering how the job interview Austin had with John Deere with here it is :) It was my first time ever leaving Brighton overnight so that was a bit difficult for me and by the way separation anxiety is a very real thing. We were so lucky that Grandma and Grandpa Crosby were ready and willing to watch him during the days and Kyle was just great watching him and spending the night at our house so Brighton didn’t have to get too out of his comfort zone.  Our first flight was 5 hours delayed leaving salt lake city and they had cancelled our second flight into Waterloo Iowa thank goodness my dad got me a card that gets me into the delta sky rooms they were able to book us on the flight that went into cedar rapids so we had an hour drive after we landed. We drove to Waterloo from Cedar Rapids…and saw absolutely NOTHING the entire way there we finally pulled in to our exit and were on a main street with nothing on it and we thought we were in the most dinky hicktown it was hilarious! Getting in at midnight we went straight to bed since I had to get Austin to the John Deere Facilities at 7:30 for his first interviews.

 I joined him at 10:30 and we had lunch with the other Engineers that are in the (EDP) Engineering Development Program. It sounds like a great program for the new graduates to figure out what they want to do. They work 3 rotations around different areas of John Deere of their choice then after the 3 rotations they choose their more permanent job focus. After that we got to tour the engine research facility that had a lot of very impressive testing capabilities which was great to see but my favorite was the factory tour we went to after that we got a personal tour on a little gator with an ex john deere engineer that’s now retired and a tour guide. He knew what he was talking about and we got to the the engines process from beginning to end and it was just awesome! Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures on the tours. And after that tour we were met a community expert that took us around a town that we had yet to even see.

Turns out they have everything all the big chains and two or 3 malls they have a lot of new housing developments as well as tons of old historic places. They have very small but very picturesque downtowns that are all about community in the summer they have old Disney movies and other family movies played in the shell park and everyone takes out their families to the park for the outdoor movies and its free! They have festivals every month and live music and concerts and rodeos and its really close the university of northern Iowa and its just a very close knit small town which I love although even I have never lived in a town this small but the prospect of Austin working for John Deere and moving out on our own to a place neither of us has been before is a bit intimidating its also very exciting. It was a short and tiring trip and we missed our lil man but are looking forward to getting an offer from them by Wednesday or Thursday this week!!!!!!!!!! Only 26 more days and we are outta here!!!
